Who ever thought of the term “retreat” should be tied up and kneed in the balls repeatedly until the end of time.  All they are is work wrapped in a different (usually less efficient) package.

Confession time. I am on the Faculty Development Committee. So, I am involved in planning and running the annual faculty retreat, and I can’t get out of it . The self-loathing runs deep.

At least I insist on making sure the catering is good each year.
